Review analysis AI

Everforex is a legitimate money services business registered with FINTRAC, but it is not a regulated forex broker. Its unregulated status means clients lack investor protection, and the 40/100 risk score indicates caution. The company is best suited for currency exchange and remittances, not for trading.

Anti-money Laundering

In Canada, the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTF Act) places strict requirements on money remittance and foreign exchange services from any organisation that is not a licensed bank in Canada. Any organisation that provides these services is defined to be a Money Services Business (MSB) and must be registered with the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre (FINTRAC).

Everforex and its branches are registered with FINTRAC (registration number M08358136). We have established prudential AML Regime, control procedures and training sessions to support the war of anti-money laundering. You should not deal with any MSB that cannot demonstrate in writing they are regulated under the legal frameworks above.

Fee Structures

Everforex employs the following flat fee structures: International TT/Wire, or resending: CAD $20.00; Tracing a payment: CAD $45.00; Bank draft/Money order: CAD $20.00; Everforex CAD cheque: CAD $2.00; Rejected customer cheque: $25.00; Non-exchange fee: 0.05% ~ 2%. About Everforex

Overview

Everforex is a Canada-based money services business established in February 2018, registered at 430-5900 No. 3 Road, Richmond, British Columbia. The company primarily offers foreign currency exchange and international fund transfer services to individuals and businesses. Although its name suggests a forex broker, Everforex does not offer leveraged retail forex or CFD trading; instead, it operates as a currency exchange and remittance provider.

The firm is registered with the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) as a Money Services Business (MSB), registration number M08358136. This registration ensures compliance with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing regulations but does not constitute financial regulatory oversight for trading activities. The company holds a registered trademark with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (TMA728291).

Regulation and Safety

Everforex is not regulated by any securities or financial conduct authority. Its FINTRAC registration is mandatory for all Canadian MSBs and relates solely to AML/CFT compliance. The FXCanary Scam Risk Score of 40/100 reflects the inherent risks of dealing with an unregulated financial entity. While the company appears legitimate for currency exchange, clients have no recourse to a compensation scheme or ombudsman in the event of disputes.

The company's website prominently displays its FINTRAC registration and emphasizes that clients should only deal with MSBs that can demonstrate written proof of regulation. However, the absence of a trading-specific licence means that client funds are not protected by investor compensation schemes often found in regulated forex brokers.

Products and Services

Everforex's core offerings are foreign currency exchange and domestic/international money transfers. They support exchange between Chinese yuan and major world currencies, as well as CAD/USD transactions. Services include online exchange via the Everforex Online platform, over-the-counter cash exchanges at seven physical branches in Canada, and telephone order instructions. The company also issues bank drafts, money orders, and its own cheques.

Fee structures are flat-fee based: CAD $20 for international wire transfers, CAD $20 for bank drafts, CAD $2 for company cheques, and a non-exchange fee of 0.05% to 2% on transfers without currency conversion. Domestic CAD transfers are free, and reward points can waive fees for certain transactions. These services are designed for individuals and businesses needing to move or convert funds, not for speculative trading.

Account Types and Platforms

Everforex offers a single online platform called Everforex Online, a web-based system for initiating exchanges and transfers. The platform is accessible 24/7 and is designed for ease of use. There is no dedicated mobile app, but the site uses responsive HTML5 design for mobile browsers. Over-the-counter services are available at physical branches for cash transactions and card payments.

The company does not differentiate account tiers; all customers use the same system. Minimum transfer amounts are not publicly specified, but cash transactions require a valid photo ID for amounts over CAD $1,000. Pre-authorized debit (PAD) is available for regular fundings from Canadian bank accounts.

Funding and Withdrawal Methods

Clients can fund their Everforex Online accounts via pre-authorized debit from a Canadian bank account, which is the preferred method. Cash and debit card payments are accepted at branches. Personal or company cheques are also accepted but must be drawn on Canadian banks. Credit cards are not accepted.

Withdrawals are typically processed via bank transfer or cheque. The company offers international wire transfers with a flat fee of CAD $20. Domestic transfers within Canada in CAD are free upon request. There is no mention of e-wallet or cryptocurrency funding options.

Customer Support

Customer support is available by phone toll-free at (800) 699-4816, with back-office support from Monday to Sunday 08:00–20:00 PST. Email support is provided for customer service (csr@everforex.ca) and Interac e-Transfer inquiries (et@everforex.ca). A careers email is also listed. Branches have limited front-desk hours; for example, the Richmond head office is open Friday 11:00–15:00 except holidays.

The website includes a Financial Services Guide and Product Disclosure Statement, outlining complaint handling procedures. However, no live chat or 24/7 support is offered.
